WHY MINDFUL EATING?
Many of us invest a lot of time and energy into figuring out WHAT to eat. But do we pay attention to HOW we eat?
We frequently eat on the go, in a rush between meetings, in front of a computer screen or TV. If we’re actually sitting at a table, then we often consider meal time to be the perfect time to check our phones, read messages and catch up with the latest on social media.
These days there is a lot of stress and pressure around food and how we eat can augment some of the challenges we face. This is where eating in a mindful way comes in.
Mindful eating can contribute to:
– weight loss
– healthy relationship with food
– improved digestion and nutrient absorption
– stress reduction
and a more pleasant eating experience!
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In this workshop you will learn about the importance of slowing down, reconnecting with your body and engaging all your senses when eating. Sounds a bit wishy –washy? Well it’s not! We all eat but we pay less and less attention to this important process which sustains our life and is meant to nourish us at a physical and emotional level. Multitasking is a way of life in our hectic modern world. However it might not be the best approach when it comes to eating.
Anna will talk about reconnecting with hunger and bringing presence to your meals. You will get many practical tips and will leave ready to start experimenting with various tools in order to eat in a more mindful way.
The workshop will include practical exercises, which means you will get to taste some of the amazing food served at the Willow – a restaurant which is a truly unique place in SW London, a hidden gem for those who want to eat real food prepared with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, using cooking methods which ensure that high nutritional value is preserved.
Please note, there won’t be a full meal served, but there will be some delicious tapas style food for you, so have a light lunch on the day of the workshop and come feeling slightly hungry!
£20 per person + Eventbrite booking fee
The price includes the workshop and tapas style food served for the mindful eating exercises.
The Bar will be open if you wish to try a glass of one of the organic, bio-dynamic, low-sulphite wines available at the Willow or if you want to get any other beverages during the workshop.
